Khalid Boulahrouz is a free agent after he terminated his contract with Sporting Lisbon.

The centre-back was not happy with his situation at the Portuguese club after he was demoted to Sporting’s ‘B’ team.

 


The Dutchman, who had a further year left on his contract with the Lions, joined the club from German outfit Stuttgart last summer.

Boulahrouz managed to make just 19 appearances in all competitions for Sporting in an injury-ravaged campaign last term.

The 31-year-old is now he is now free to join any interested club as a free agent.

The defender started his professional career with RKC Waalwijk and has also played for Sevilla, Chelsea and Hamburg.

Boulahrouz has been capped 35 times by the Netherlands and has also represented the nation at Under-21 level.
