Brazilian midfielder Willian believes he will be working under the "best manager" at Chelsea in Jose Mourinho and expects to improve as a player.

Chelsea snapped up the 25-year-old from Anzhi Makhachkala during the summer transfer window, publicly beating Tottenham Hostpur to his signature, despite Spurs having booked him in for a medical.

And Mourinho played a genuine role in attracting Willian to Stamford Bridge, with the schemer feeling sure the former Real Madrid coach will improve him.

"I get to work with Mourinho, who is the best manager and I am going to grow a lot under him", the midfielder told SporTV.

But Willian is not taking his spot in Mourinho's side for granted and knows that with a number of rivals for a place in the starting eleven he must work very hard.

"They have quality players and no one can take their place for granted.

"I will work hard to get on the first team."

A product of Corinthians' youth academy, Willian made the move to Europe in 2007 when he signed for Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk.

He won four Ukrainian Premier League titles, three Ukrainian Cups, three Ukrainian Super Cups and one UEFA Cup during his time at the Donbass Arena.
