Isco and David Silva will not feature for Spain in the nation’s friendly match against Chile on Tuesday, the Spanish Football Federation have confirmed.
Real Madrid playmaker Isco was in line to collect his second international cap in the match in Geneva, but the national team have confirmed he has returned to the Spanish capital "as a precaution" following tests on his left ankle.
The 21-year-old was an unused substitute in La Roja’s 2-0 victory over Finland in a World Cup qualifying match on Friday.
Silva, on the other hand, complained of discomfort after the completion of his country’s training session yesterday.
And, after an MRI scan, the Manchester City player was diagnosed with a mild muscular injury.
Spanish Football Federation have already informed the Citizens about the situation involving Silva.
La Roja manager, Vicente del Bosque, has decided to not call up anyone to replace the injured pair.
