Liverpool centre-back Kolo Toure has explained that he enjoys seeing the Kop faithful every day and insisted they give him extra motivation each time he plays for the club.

The 32-year-old, who joined the Reds on a free transfer from Manchester City earlier in the summer, has already put in a couple of impressive displays with the Merseyside giants and has also been an instant hit amongst the club’s supporters.

And the Ivory Coast international has acknowledged the love that he is receiving from the fans and has stated that he wants to “fight for them.”

"I really enjoy it when I see them [the fans] every day. I can feel their support and I can feel they love the club. That's great”, he told his club’s official site.

"I really want to fight for them because when you have fans like that, it gives you extra power.

"I really want to do as well as I can for the club and for the fans as well because they are great."

Toure is currently sidelined after injuring his groin during his club’s second round League Cup match against Notts County last month.
