Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has pointed out that Marseille’s French international players have the capability to play for his club, ahead of the two teams’ Champions League clash tonight.

The 30-year-old Frenchman was full of praise for his compatriots from Marseille, who he thinks are ready to take on the Gunners at the Stade Velodrome.

Amongst the players on the opposing side tonight, Sagna has taken special note of Mathieu Valbuena as the right-back knows that the midfielder is a nippy customer and is “quite difficult to catch.”

“[Marseille’s French internationals] could easily play for Arsenal. I think technically they are at the top and they have a lot of quality and they are used to playing big games. We've talked about the game and they are ready to play against us”, Sagna explained to his club’s official site.

“He [Valbuena] is quite difficult to catch. He is really small and moves a lot. He creates a lot of chances so we need to be on form that day and we need to play our way, dictate the game and show we are Arsenal.”

Sagna also refused to single out important games for his side in the Champions League as he believes that every single match in the group stage is crucial for the Gunners in their bid to qualify for the knockout rounds.

“I think every single game will be important whether it's away or at home”, he added.

“We need to win games and if we do that we don't need to worry about anything. We know that every game is going to be difficult and every single game is going to be important. We need to start well.”
