Brazilian legend Ronaldo has revealed that he rates Lionel Messi above Cristiano Ronaldo in the best player in the world stakes.

Ronaldo played for both Real Madrid and Barcelona in his prestigious career, which saw him collect the Ballon d'Or twice, as well as scooping up the FIFA World Player of the Year accolade on three occasions.

Now retired, having hung up his boots at Brazilian side Corinthians in 2011, Ronaldo has cast his eye over the footballing landscape.

And for the 37-year-old, Messi is king of the castle.
