Belgian starlet Thorgan Hazard, on loan at Jupiler Pro League side Zulte Waregem from Chelsea, feels that the Blues have belief in him and has explained how they are keeping a close eye on his progress.

Hazard signed for Chelsea last summer from French club Lens, but was instantly sent on a season-long loan in his homeland with Zulte Waregem, depriving him of the chance to play alongside his brother Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.

However, heading to Belgium proved to be the right call as Hazard excelled with Zulte Waregem and helped them to finish as runners-up, only missing out on the Belgian title narrowly to Anderlecht.

He is now into his second season-long loan at the club – but despite being away from Chelsea for so long, still feels much faith in his talents from the side.

"Chelsea people regularly come to Waregem to analyse my situation", he explained to Het Nieuwsblad.

"They ask me how I feel, tell me about my matches. I really feel that Chelsea believe in me.

"The proof of this was that the English did not want to sell me to Anderlecht or Genk [in the summer].

"I also had a good discussion with Jose Mourinho.

"I did not know how to behave in front of him. He immediately put me at ease though and explained that he watched the title-decider between Anderlecht and Zulte Waregem.

"This proves that he follows me."

So far this season the 20-year-old has notched up an impressive five goals and six assists in just eight Jupiler Pro League games.
