Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is confident Marco Reus will not emulate his ex-colleague Mario Gotze in taking the exit door despite some eye-catching performances.

Four goals in seven league games were capped with a goal and an assist last night as Dortmund comfortably saw off Marseille 3-0 in the Champions League.

Reus, in fact, had expressed his Dortmund desire ahead of Bayern Munich back in March last year, when still at Borussia Monchengladbach.

And Watzke insists, unlike Gotze's much-publicised switch this summer, Reus will continue his Dortmund commitment, telling Bild: "Marco just feels very comfortable with us.

"We feel very comfortable with him. He has an even closer relationship with the club and the city than did Mario Gotze.

"Marco was born here, his family lives here, and the centre of his life has always been here. This is certainly a criteria in his decision.

"He knows that BVB is a good choice for him. I am sure of that."

Reus is a Dortmund academy graduate, but also enjoyed youth and senior spells with Rot Weiss Ahlen before joining Gladbach for three years until last summer.
