Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak has revealed that Miroslav Klose is an inspiration to him and that he looks up to the German hitman.

The Czech Republic international, who joined the Villains from Lazio during the summer transfer window, had the opportunity to rub shoulders with Klose at the Stadio Olimpico.

And Kozak feels that his former team-mate was one of the best strikers of the world a few years back.

"He is an inspiration to me and someone I look up to", he told Aston Villa’s official site.

"He was one of the best strikers in the world – maybe not right now but a few years ago.

"I was able to play and train with him and see him up close.”

Kozak further added that he feels age has not managed to slow down Klose and stated that he learnt a lot from the prolific forward during his two-and-a-half-year spell at Lazio.

"Now he is 35 years old but he plays like he is 25", he added.

"When he has an opportunity for a goal he scores. He is very, very intelligent on the pitch and he knows exactly what to do, but he is also very professional.

"I learned lots from the two-and-a-half years I played with him and I looked up to him a lot."

Kozak, who is contracted with Aston Villa until 2017, has scored once in four appearances for the club in all competitions thus far.
