Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has confirmed that the club are talking to AC Milan about sending Adil Rami away on loan.

Rami has been at the centre of a storm at the Mestalla this season after he made comments criticising coach Miroslav Djukic and was suspended without pay as a result.

Now Valencia are looking to offload the Frenchman and Milan are interested, having approached them over taking Rami on loan from January until the end of the season, with an option to buy included.

"We are getting closer to each other in the negotiations, but in football anything can happen", Salvo explained to reporters in Spain.

"What's a good solution? Well, the best for Valencia would be if we can keep all our good players and if this had not happened.

"But taking into account the situation, we think this is a good settlement."

The deal is yet to be green lit and there are other clubs that hold an interest in the former Lille man, but Milan are firmly in the box seat.
