Juventus are ready to allow summer signing Fernando Llorente to move on in January, with Arsenal eyeing up a loan swoop for the former Athletic Bilbao man.

Llorente landed in Turin when his contract with the Basque side expired at the end of last season, his capture greeted as something of a coup, alongside the arrival of fellow hitman Carlos Tevez.

But while Tevez has captured hearts in Turin, Llorente has struggled to impose himself and is now in line to be shipped out in the new year.

Indeed, the Spain international has started just two of Juventus' seven Serie A games, with his all too regular job being a role from the bench.

Now Arsenal, who have tracked Llorente for some time, are eyeing up a move to take the Spaniard on loan from January until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old is unlikely to be pleased at a continuing fringe role at the Bianconeri, especially in a World Cup year, and may jump at the chance to head to the Emirates Stadium.

Llorente admitted late last month that he was unsure why he was not commanding a regular spot at Juventus, commenting: "I am surprised I'm not being chosen to play", before adding his desire to continue working hard.

The striker's contract in Turin runs until the summer of 2017.
