England manager Roy Hodgson believes that taking the Three Lions to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil is his biggest achievement in football.

Goals from Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard, towards the end of the first half and second half, ensured England beat Poland 2-0 at Wembley and qualified automatically for the World Cup next summer.

For Hodgson there was relief, the pressure off his shoulders as the plane ticket was booked.

And the former Finland coach believes that steering his home country to the prestigious tournament might just be his greatest achievement in the game.

Asked by the BBC if it was is greatest achievement, Hodgson replied: "I think so. It feels that way.

"The real pressure as an Englishman with the English team, my other teams could not produce that. I am proud of my qualifying record, with only four defeats in 40 games."

However, Hodgson feels that beyond results, the football his side are playing deserves recognition too.

"I would like to think we are playing some good football now, with some exciting talent", he said.
