Galatasaray president Unal Aysal has denied that his club are ready to sell Wesley Sneijder to Chelsea in the January transfer window.

There has been speculation that Sneijder could reunite with his former boss at Inter, Jose Mourinho, at Stamford Bridge in the new year.

But the Turkish champions do not want to sell a player they only acquired from Inter in January, especially because the club's new coach Roberto Mancini has not yet, Aysal has claimed, has time to assess his squad.

And so selling the Dutchman is out of the question.

"We have no desire to sell Wesley Sneijder", the Galatasaray president told A Bola.

"Roberto Mancini has not yet had the time to assess his team and has therefore asked us not to sell any players at this time."

Mancini was recently appointed Galatasaray boss following the departure of club legend Fatih Terim. The Turkish tactician had been unable to agree terms over a contract extension.
