Miroslav Klose could be close to sealing his previously mentioned transfer to the United States with LA Galaxy ready to sign him next summer.

According to Corriere della Sera, the Galaxy will roll out the red carpet for Klose despite attention from clubs in the Premier League, and his former employers Kaiserslautern.

Klose's contract with Lazio expires next summer and it was believed that he could follow compatriots Andre Schurrle and Mesut Ozil to the Premier League.

However, it now seems that an agreement between Klose and LA Galaxy is ready to take place, despite Lazio's offer of a contract extension.

Germany international Klose has found playing time a little hard to come by, and previously revealed he had "received two offers from the US".

"I cannot close the door on a return to Kaiserslautern where I started my career. In football you should never rule anything out", Klose had added.

If the Galaxy are successful, the former Bayern Munich striker will follow in David Beckham's footsteps in playing for the MLS Cup champions.

The Galaxy also ended last season as Western Conference playoff winners, while they are currently third in the Championship table just two points behind leaders Portland Timbers.
