Emmanuel Adebayor has never been far from transfer speculation, and it is Turkish side Trabzonspor that have followed rivals' Besiktas in expressing an interest.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Adebayor is in the crosshairs at the Super Lig club following a tumultuous period at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Togolese forward was told to train with the developmental squad by manager Andre Villas-Boas but is now seemingly back in the first-team fold.

He is yet to make an appearance for Spurs in the new season, though, and that has always meant transfer chatter for the 29-year-old.

However, Trabzonspor chairman Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu is believed to be wary of the transfer fee, something that has thwarted attempts by other clubs over the years.

The club do have experience of acquring from London clubs, though, with Jose Bosingwa and Florent Malouda making the switch this summer.

Trabzonspor's Super Lig rivals Besiktas, Championship side Queens Park Rangers and Bundesliga side Schalke were understood to be keen on Adebayor, who still has two years left on his contract at Spurs.

Adebayor's two seasons so far with Tottenham have yielded 58 Premier League appearances with 22 goals.
