Valencia are determined to try and sign Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez in the January transfer window.

While Los Che have been focused on snapping up another centre-back to cover the impending loss of Adil Rami to AC Milan, coach Miroslav Djukic is also keen on adding more cutting edge to his side – and Valencia feel Hernandez is the answer, according to Spanish outlet Valencia Plaza.

Valencia have been watching the Mexican's situation at Manchester United with interest and feel there may be an opportunity to tempt Hernandez to Spain.

Hernandez has insisted he is happy at Old Trafford but, being on the bench more often than not, did recently drop a hint over a potential departure if he does not regularly start more games.

Valencia are concerned about the transfer fee Manchester United might demand for Hernandez, along with the player's salary requirements.

But Los Che are still hopeful that if there is the will on both sides to do a deal then the Mexican could end up at the Mestalla.

Manchester United snapped up Hernandez in the summer of 2010 and the Mexican quickly became a fan favourite.
