Paris Saint-Germain are still keen on Chelsea attacking midfielder Juan Mata, following their interest in the Spaniard over the summer.

Coach Laurent Blanc is insistent that the French champions need another creative midfielder and it was this desire which saw a late, but ultimately unsuccessful, move for Mesut Ozil on transfer deadline day.

Mata had also been under consideration at the Parc des Princes and, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, PSG still stand ready to bid for the Spaniard.

Mata had a tough start to life under new-old Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and expressed his frustration at being sidelined.

That has now changed somewhat, with Mata receiving playing time, although he was an unused substitute in midweek as Chelsea won 3-0 at Schalke in the Champions League.

Given any indication that Chelsea are open to selling the former Valencia man in January, PSG could well act, slapping in a bid.

However, there are other options for the French giants, with the club firm fans of Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben, Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus and Schalke's Julian Draxler.
