Talented attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda has admitted that his dream remains to play in the English Premier League and has mused over whether he did not do enough to attract bids from the country's elite in the summer.

Belhanda has long been linked with a number of Premier League sides, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur the two most consistently mooted as admiring the Moroccan.

But while the 23-year-old was widely expected to leave French outfit Montpellier in the summer, his eventual destination was a surprise, with Dynamo Kyiv snapping him up for a fee of €10m.

And Belhanda has explained how he came to be in the Ukraine and what his dreams are for the future.

The Moroccan told beIN Sport: "When I got the call from Dynamo, the president wanted to meet me in Monaco. As soon as he introduced me to the project, I did not want to wait anymore. As soon as he came, he convinced me.

"I saw that he knew all about me.

"My dream is to play in England, but maybe I did not do what it takes to attract clubs from there last year.

"Dynamo called me, knew everything about me. That was reassuring. I signed here without worries."

Belhanda now though is happy in the Ukraine, following what he describes as a brief period of adjustment.

"The coach put me in straight at number 10. So far, so good.

"At first there was an adjustment period because it was a little complicated with the language and changing country. In fact, just change at all, because I had been at Montpellier for ten years."
