Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes Petr Cech's head injury from seven years ago left no doubt in his mind as to its severity, as the questions around Tottenham Hotspur and Hugo Lloris continue to dominate headlines.

Spurs allowed goalkeeper Lloris to continue despite being knocked unconscious for a few seconds after being hit on the head by Romelu Lukaku's knee.

Tottenham's decision has been criticised, especially as video footage at the time showed Brad Friedel had been ready to come on when Lloris began arguing to be allowed to play on.

The incident brought back memories of 2006 when Cech suffered a similar collision, something that nearly claimed his life, and Mourinho today claimed he did not face any similar conundrums to his counterpart Andre Villas-Boas.

"I only can speak about the Petr Cech situation, I can't speak about Hugo Lloris", Mourinho told a press conference today.

"Petr Cech was dying on the pitch clearly. We all know that, at that moment, he was dying.

"So there was no space for doubts or questions or lack of communication between player, doctor and manager.

"This Lloris situation I did not watch on TV and I don't want to comment."
