Aston Villa skipper Ron Vlaar has insisted that he is not worried about his side failing to score in recent matches.

Since their 3-2 triumph over Manchester City on 28th September, the Villains have not managed to find the back of the net in their last four outings against Hull City, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham United respectively.

However, Vlaar, who blamed bad luck for Aston Villa’s recent goalscoring slump, is confident that his side will start scoring again soon.

The Netherlands international further heaped praise on the club’s strike force of Christian Benteke, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann and backed the trio to bang in the goals once again, in the same manner as last season.

"We have a lot of quality up front. We will score very soon”, Vlaar told his club’s official site.

"Christian was very close at West Ham. He was unlucky with the crossbar and the good save from the goalkeeper. But it will come. I am not worried at all, actually.

"Christian, Gabby and Andi showed they are one of the best strike forces in the Premier League last season – and they will show that again.

"Sometimes it's just a bit of luck.”

Aston Villa are currently in 14th place in the Premier League table with 11 points from 10 fixtures.
