Luis Muriel's agent has admitted he has heard comparisons between his client and legendary Brazil striker Ronaldo are doing the rounds, something he is keen to cool.

The young striker has excelled at Udinese over the last 18 months and understandably attracted attention from a number of Europe's elite.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are keen on the 22-year-old, while within Italy, Inter are firm fans of Muriel's abilities and remain determined to be in the mix should any transfer war break out.

Muriel's talents have seen him compared to Ronaldo, who himself played for Inter between 1997 and 2002, following a simply prolific season with Barcelona which saw him score 47 goals in 49 games.

And that chatter has reached Helmut Wennin's ears, although he is keen to play it down.

Muriel's agent told FC Inter News: "This [comparisons with Ronaldo, ed.] is being said, but I think we want to calm these comparisons.

"Ronaldo was a great, we are talking about a legend."

Muriel has so far hit three goals in nine Serie A games this term, while he has found the back of the net twice in the Europa League.

His contract at Udinese runs until the summer of 2018.
