Belgium boss Marc Wilmots has refused to be drawn into the debate over Chelsea forward Eden Hazard being dropped for the English side's Champions League match against Schalke earlier this week.

Hazard had been expected to turn out against the Bundesliga club at Stamford Bridge, but was surprisingly omitted by manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese explained Hazard had been left out because he missed a vital training session, commenting that: "I don't want to lie. He is not injured. He forgot the time."

Wilmots is unconcerned by Hazard's poor timekeeping though and is looking forward to having the 22-year-old at his disposal for friendlies against Colombia and Japan on 15th and 19th November.

"I don't have an opinion with regards to the question [on Hazard]", Wilmots told reporters.

"Everyone behaves how they want.

"What happens in the clubs doesn't concern me and I don't want anyone to get involved in my affairs either."

At international level Hazard has won 40 caps for Belgium, scoring five goals.
