Cristiano Ronaldo is not concerning himself with the FIFA Ballon d'Or as it is out of his hands, he has claimed.

Ronaldo continued his sublime form yesterday as he hit a hat-trick in Real Madrid's 5-1 La Liga victory over Real Sociedad.

Along with Franck Ribery and Lionel Messi, the Portuguese is considered to be one of the front-runners for the coveted accolade.

There had been worries that recent criticism from FIFA president Sepp Blatter, who said Ronaldo spends much more time at the hairdressers than Messi, before backtracking and apologising, could have an effect.

But, speaking after the win over Real Sociedad, Ronaldo played that and the Ballon d'Or as a whole down.

"I don't want to talk about it. As I have said previously, I prove my worth on the pitch", he said.

"It doesn't come down to me and I'm not worried.

"That's why I'm only interested in winning and helping the team."
