Liverpool defender Daniel Agger believes that there are no favourites when it comes to this season's Premier League title race.

The Reds have made a strong start to the season and currently sit second on 23 points from eleven games, just two behind league leaders Arsenal.

While Liverpool have, in public, been aiming for a top four finish, there is now growing expectation around Anfield that they could even challenge for the crown.

And that is something Agger has refused to dismiss, declaring there to be no favourites in the current race.

"I do not think there are any [favourites]", he told Danish outlet Bold.

"It has been the hallmark of the past several years, that more and more people can participate [in the title race].

"It's all the clubs who have been better, not only those who are in the top five and six, but also those below. This makes it difficult, but perhaps it is also very good.

"There is a long way to go and I also believe it will be close when we get to May."
