Denmark coach Morten Olsen has advised Nicklas Bendtner to leave Arsenal in January in search of regular first team football.

Bendtner had been expected to quit the Gunners this summer and recently explained he had three clubs waiting for him to give the green light before the transfer window closed, but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger blocked the deal.

The striker has admitted that left him disappointed and has vowed to work to get himself in tip top shape for a new club.

And Olsen feels Bendtner should certainly leave the Gunners as he is suffering from not playing regularly.

"Bendtner scored two great goals for us in the game against Italy, but there were also things he lacked in the match and this only comes through playing games", Olsen told reporters.

"It is for this reason that he should find something new this winter, and so, we know that well.

"I think he will make the recommendation to himself and that is the main thing. Footballers want to play football.

"He has maybe ten years left to go; he must use them well."
