Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has all but admitted his interest in Olympiacos striker Kostas Mitroglou, who is one of the hottest properties in European football at present.

The hitman has turned heads with his performances in the Greek Super League and the Champions League with Olympiacos, and also on the international stage with Greece, helping his country qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Mitroglou's heroics have not gone unnoticed and he has been linked with Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Inter and Liverpool.

And Wenger has admitted that he feels Mitroglou, who scored against Romania in Greece's vital World Cup playoff tie, is a "true finisher".

The Arsenal manager wrote in his Eurosport column: "As the Greek league is not to the front of the stage, there is less talk of Mitroglou.

"He has been discovered playing international games.

"At Arsenal, he is well known since we played Olympiacos in the Champions League.

"I am happy for him because this is a guy who has both a physical presence and a sense of finishing. We have seen this again with the goal he scored for Greece against Romania.

"He is a true finisher.

"He will have to try to move to a higher level to see what he is really capable of. In any case, all major European clubs will certainly be on alert.

"When you look at his statistics, we cannot overlook him."
