Chelsea and Manchester United are both on the tail of talented France youth international Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The 19-year-old midfielder currently turns out in France's Ligue 1 for Rennes, making his senior debut for Les Rouges et Noirs earlier this year.

Bakayoko's impressive progress at both club and international level has seen a number of sides alive to his talents, with Chelsea and Manchester United each taking a close interest.

Bakayoko has been the cause of numerous scouts booking into French youth games in recent years, with appearances at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level for Les Bleus.

A defensive midfielder by trade, the 19-year-old has so far featured in 12 Ligue 1 games for Rennes, who sit 13th in the French top flight table.

Rennes will not be keen on losing Bakayoko, a product of the club's youth academy, but may find themselves powerless in the event of Chelsea or Manchester United firming up their interest.

Bakayoko played all 90 minutes in Rennes' 2-0 defeat at Lorient yesterday, while despite his defensive nature, he has already opened his goals account in Ligue 1 this term, striking in a 5-0 romp over Toulouse in late October.
