Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg will be awaiting Christmas with bated breath as Kevin De Bruyne's fate looks set to be resolved in a fortnight.

De Bruyne has been on the fringes at Chelsea, with manager Jose Mourinho initially not happy with the 22-year-old's progress.

However, Mourinho regrets not giving him enough chances, though De Bruyne has been without a Premier League appearance since 21st September – playing only in cups and in the Champions League.

It means clubs have been hankering for his services, especially given his displays for Bremen last season.

And his agent Patrick de Koster told Kicker: "In two weeks, we have an appointment in London and we will learn more."

De Bruyne's Belgium spot for next year's World Cup could be under threat if he does not get the required game time, meaning only a winter move will suffice.

Mourinho recently claimed in a press conference that De Bruyne had reacted well to the situation, but added: "We need him but we must analyse the situation and be honest. This is something the club will decide.

"I feel a little guilty because I could not give him many chances to express himself. It is sad when he does not appear in the team, but he reacted in a very professional manner."
