Cristian Tello has put his suitors on high alert by admitting he is ready to walk away from Barcelona if regular first team football does not come his way.

The speedy winger-cum-forward only signed a new contract at Barcelona in the summer, one which increased his buy-out clause and also signalled the Spanish side's commitment to his continued development.

Tello had had options to move elsewhere and explained that Liverpool especially were keen to roll out the red carpet for him.

The Reds may now dust off that carpet with Tello admitting he is not too pleased at the amount of playing time heading his way at the Camp Nou.

"I am young and I want to play", he told Catalan daily Sport.

"If I do not succeed at Barcelona, I will assess my situation at the end of the season."

However, the 22-year-old is not eyeing cutting and running in January.

"I am grateful to this club. I am not thinking of changing club when the market reopens."
