Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has called on his side to look beyond their 5-0 thrashing of Tottenham at the weekend.

The big win at White Hart Lane, coupled with Arsenal’s 6-3 loss at the hands of Manchester City, means that the Reds are currently just a place and two points adrift of the Gunners at the top of the Premier League.

And Mignolet, who praised Liverpool’s display against Spurs, has urged his side to build on that performance in their next league game against Cardiff City on Saturday.

The Belgian international also admitted that it will not be an easy job for the Reds against the Bluebirds at Anfield, but the 25-year-old wants his side to continue their impressive winning run in the Premier League.

"We showed what we can achieve when we play the football we want to play and all of us do our jobs", Mignolet was quoted as saying by his club's official site.

“We are happy and enjoyed the moment but Tottenham is in the past and now we have to look forward.

"We have to make sure we build on that performance and do the same things against Cardiff.

"It will be another difficult game and we need to be focused on the next game. We are in a good position but we need to prepare correctly and keep this run going."

Liverpool, who have now won three consecutive Premier League matches, will face Manchester City and Chelsea in testing away fixtures after Saturday’s encounter with Cardiff.
