Daniel Agger is confident that he will receive more first team chances at Liverpool this season and stressed it is incumbent upon him to take them.

The Danish international has been overlooked by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers in recent matches, something which has caused Luis Suarez to take the captain's armband instead of vice-captain Agger in Steven Gerrard's absence.

His fringe status also caused Napoli to make a recent approach for his services, but Liverpool knocked that back.

And Agger is certain Rodgers will give him chances to impress in future.
