French attacking midfielder-cum-winger Hatem Ben Arfa has brushed off questions about a potential departure from current club Newcastle.

Ben Arfa, who was linked with Liverpool over the summer, has not started a game for the Magpies since playing against Sunderland on 27th October. He has though made regular forays from the bench for Alan Pardew's men.

Still, a lack of regular starts is something of a concern in a World Cup year, with Ben Arfa hoping to book a spot on the plane to Brazil as part of Didier Deschamps' France squad.

However, he has brushed off talk of a move away from Newcastle.

"A departure from Newcastle? That question is playing right now. But I am not thinking about it", he told L'Equipe.

"I'm under contract to Newcastle and I feel good.

"The World Cup? I'm not thinking about that either. I'm just thinking about my club and helping when it's possible."

Ben Arfa's contract at Newcastle runs until the summer of 2015.
