Arsenal have joined Barcelona and Juventus in the race for Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Ter Stegen has long been linked with Barcelona, who are seeking to replace Victor Valdes, the Spain shot-stopper having decided not to extend his contract at the Camp Nou.

Juventus have also sounded out the 21-year-old about heading to Italy, with their current number 1, Gianluigi Buffon, set to turn 36 years old in January.

However, according to German daily Bild, Barcelona and Juventus now have competition from another club for Ter Stegen, in the form of English giants Arsenal.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent months, including Real Madrid custodian Iker Casillas.

But now it seems Ter Stegen has fallen onto their radar, with the shot-stopper's displays at Gladbach having been consistently impressive for some time.

Gladbach are still hopeful Ter Stegen may extend a contract which is due to expire in 2015, but the goalkeeper has three of Europe's elite on his tail, making such a course of action appear unlikely.
