Liverpool custodian Simon Mignolet has explained that the side are delighted to have returned to a Champions League spot following their 2-0 win over Hull City at Anfield yesterday.

Goals from Daniel Agger and Luis Suarez helped the Reds, who lost their previous two outings against Manchester City and Chelsea respectively, to beat the Tigers and move into the fourth place in the Premier League with 39 points from 20 matches.

And Mignolet has insisted that his side are please to be back amongst the top four.

However, the Blegium international admitted that Liverpool may slip out of a Champions League spot again and wants the Merseyside club to focus on picking up points from their upcoming games.

"It's always nice to be back in the top four – it's where we want to be”, Mignolet told his club’s official site.

“The only thing we can do is look forward and ahead to the next game.

"We're there now [in the top four] but that doesn't mean we are going to stay there.

"We'll do our best and we'll work hard to make sure that we get the points out of any game that comes along."

Liverpool, who remain six points off top spot in the Premier League, will next welcome Oldham to Anfield for a FA Cup fixture on Sunday.
