Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is an admirer of Roma's Miralem Pjanic but is not confident on sealing a quickfire winter switch.

Pjanic is being lined up for a five-year contract extension at Roma, even as Manchester United follow the talented Bosnian.

PSG are always in the market for midfield reinforcements – with names such as Yohan Cabaye and Juan Mata doing the rounds.

However, things may not pan out the way Al-Khelaifi wants as the Qatari told L'Equipe: "Most big clubs want Pjanic today.

"But I respect Roma and I can understand they will not sell their best players in the middle of the season.

"Pjanic is a good player, even a great player. But I do not have the impression that Roma is willing to let him go this winter."

Pjanic is expected to receive a significant wage hike at Roma should he agree to a contract extension beyond his current deadline of 2015.

The 23-year-old has made 16 appearances in Roma's unbeaten Serie A season so far, with three goals and four assists.
