Despite Barcelona being poised to sign Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Borussia Monchengladbach as a replacement for Victor Valdes, Thibaut Courtois is not disappointed, his father has claimed.

The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, who is on loan at the club from Chelsea, has been touted as a candidate to replace Valdes, who has decided not to renew his contract at the Camp Nou.

But German custodian Ter Stegen looks the likeliest to be handed Valdes' gloves in the summer.

For many players, missing out on a move to Barcelona could be seen as a disappointment, but Thierry Courtois insists his son is not fretting at the Catalans' moving for Ter Stegen.

"Thibaut was not at all disappointed that Barcelona chose another keeper", Thierry Courtois told Het Nieuwsblad.

"Barcelona were never really an option.

"Thibaut is tied to Atletico until the summer."

And Thierry Courtois insists talks with Chelsea over his son's future following the end of this season are taking place.

"It is only logical to speak with Chelsea about Thibaut's future. And that is what we are doing right now."
