Salomon Kalou has done his best to play down speculation surrounding an exit from French side Lille, claiming he is pleased to be at the Ligue 1 club.

There has been talk of interest from English pair Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, and a move to either would mean a return to London for Kalou, where he previously turned out for Chelsea until 2012.

However, Lille's president has shut the door on the striker leaving and Kalou has now lined up behind his club's powerbroker and has mused over the lack of a reason to switch sides during the course of a campaign.

"I'm happy here. Why change clubs mid-season?", he said to Le Parisien.

"We started well and I would like to continue until the end.

"We have a state of mind which I will not find anywhere else. But then, in football, you can never predict anything."

Kalou's contract at Lille runs until the summer of 2016.

The striker has featured in 19 Ligue 1 games for the club this term, finding the back of the net six times and providing his team-mates with two assists.
