Roma have cast their gaze over to Turkey for a potential reinforcement this month, with Fenerbahce left-back Caner Erkin being eyed.

The 25-year-old full-back has a contract with the Yellow Canaries which expires at the end of the season and as such he has become a tempting target for the Giallorossi.

According to Turkish daily Sabah, the Serie A outfit are keen on Erkin and are pondering a move, which could occur either this month or towards the end of the current campaign.

However, Roma could face opposition for the Turkey international as English giants Liverpool have been linked with the defender.

Interest from Roma will come as little surprise to Erkin's agent, who commented just last month: "We know he is being followed abroad."

Fenerbahce are likely to make a big push to extend the left-back's contract, but interest from Roma and Liverpool has given pause for thought for the player.

The 25-year-old landed at the Istanbul giants in 2010, moving from Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow.
