Auxerre president Guy Cotret has denied any concrete offer from clubs in England despite heavy links from Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers for Paul-Georges Ntep.

Auxerre are understood to have received a €6m offer for Ntep from Rennes, and an agreement with the Ligue 1 club is imminent.

Second-division Auxerre, though, have been linked with negotiating with Arsenal and QPR, to the extent of Ntep reportedly meeting with the latter's representatives in England.

However, Cotret denied there was any truth to Ntep's travel speculation, and told lyonne.fr: "I have had no contact with an English club.

"There is a French club of which I have spoken, and who has made an offer. After that, maybe the player and his agent have had other contacts. But in terms of offers, there is only one.

"I read they were talking about QPR. He was not at Queens Park. And Arsenal? Without a doubt!! I'm not fooled."

Ntep had also been targeted by Roma and Borussia Monchengladbach this season, though Cotret, who values the player at €8m, has warned the deal could be finalised soon.

"We are in advanced negotiations with the French club that I mentioned on Sunday", he added. "For his part, Paul-George is considering [the offer]. We have given him another 24 hours to come to a decision."
