Ligue 1 club Nantes are plotting a swoop for two out-of-favour Premier League stars in Arsenal striker Park Chu-Young and Newcastle midfielder Sylvain Marveaux.

Nantes are keen to bring in reinforcements, especially with striker Filip Djordjevic seeing his contract at the club expire in the summer; the 26-year-old has been linked with a move to England, Hull City listed as suitors.

South Korea striker Park has struggled to make an impact at Arsenal since arriving at the club in the summer of 2012 from Monaco.

His stock remains high in France however, due to a successful spell at the principality club.

Last term the 28-year-old turned out for Spanish outfit Celta Vigo on loan, clocking regular game time. This season though, back at Arsenal, he has just one League Cup appearance to his name – and that from the bench.

Marveaux meanwhile is another player highly rated in Ligue 1, but who has failed to transfer that form to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old, who landed at Newcastle following the expiry of his contract with Rennes, has played just three times in the Premier League this term and is firmly on the fringes of boss Alan Pardew's squad.

And so, according to Press Ocean, Nantes are eyeing swooping to snap up the pair.

The newly-promoted side are enjoying a positive campaign back in Ligue 1 this season and currently sit a healthy eighth in the table.

While they would not be able to afford Park and Marveaux on their current Arsenal and Newcastle salaries, the pair may be willing to take a pay cut in order to secure regular first team football.
