Rennes have confirmed their signing of Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers target Paul-Georges Ntep on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Promising striker Ntep will therefore move to the club he had been initially close to joining, before QPR and Arsenal became favourites to hoover up his services.

Rennes' offer to Auxerre was accepted, but no agreement could be found with the player due to personal terms the Ligue 1 club considered to be exorbitant.

However, Rennes have today made good the signing, with photographic proof, after Ntep completed his medical yesterday.

In a short statement via their Twitter feed, the club wrote: "PG Ntep [sic] has signed a contract for three-and-a-half years.

"This afternoon, he participated in his first training session."

The 21-year-old leaves Auxerre after more than two years at the club, during which he scored 20 goals in 62 total appearances.

A France Under-21 international, Auxerre's reluctance to let Ntep leave was partially down to his displays this season, where he bagged 11 goals in 22 games.
