Arsenal could yet face a fresh twist in Mirko Vucinic's signing as Valencia line up an approach for the Juventus forward.

According to Sky Italia, the Mestalla club have popped in at the last minute, despite Arsenal seemingly reaching an agreement.

Montenegrin Vucinic's future has been on a veritable tightrope this month, after initially missing out on a swap deal with Inter Milan involving Fredy Guarin.

Even as Arsenal began reviving their interest, Zenit St. Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti emerged a contender for his former Roma charge.

Vucinic was expected to reach London today for final talks and, possibly, undergo a medical.

However, that might be facing a few hurdles, as Arsenal are understood to not be in favour of paying a fee to Juventus for the loan, something the Bianconeri have now insisted upon.

Vucinic has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus this season, thanks to the arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.

The former Roma and Lecce forward has made just four starts in Serie A with two goals.
