Jose Mourinho has hailed Eden Hazard's performance against Newcastle today as Chelsea moved to the top of the Premier League table.

Taking advantage of Arsenal's 5-1 defeat at Liverpool and Manchester City's 0-0 draw at Norwich, the Blues powered to a 3-0 win over the Magpies – with Hazard the star of the show.

The Belgian attacking midfielder opened the scoring in the 27th minute before adding a second only seven minutes later.

He was then handed penalty duties and a chance to claim his hat-trick, which he did with aplomb just after the hour mark.

And Mourinho feels that the former Lille man has simply been continuing his run of superb form, with the only difference being that today he grabbed goals.

"Hazard's performance was similar to other ones, the only difference today was the hat-trick", the Chelsea boss said via his club's feed.

"He has consistency and ambition", he added.

Chelsea now have 56 points from 25 games, one more than Arsenal and two more than Manchester City.
