Rafael Benitez gave some of the credit for last night's "almost perfect" win to a certain Napoli legend, after they beat Roma 3-0 in the Coppa Italia semi-final.

Benitez's side made the final with Diego Maradona watching from the stands, as Napoli fought back from their 3-2 first-leg defeat.

Jose Callejon, Gonzalo Higuain and winter signing Jorginho made yesterday's win possible, even as Benitez joked he would love to call up Maradona for the final.

Napoli will face Fiorentina in that round, as Benitez was quoted by the club website as saying: "It was easier to win with Maradona there.

"But let us not take the credit away from these lads, as they played really well. I met Maradona some years ago, he could be useful for us on the pitch!

"It wasn’t the perfect performance, but it was almost perfect.

"The team showed their quality. It was difficult to win against this Roma team and to do it without conceding a goal."
