He will now link up with Wednesday until 12th March, with both teams confirming the news today.

The 24-year-old spent last season at Nottingham Forest, in a career that needed a temporary retirement owing to injury.

Hutchinson, a former England youth international, is deemed eligible to feature for the Owls in their FA Cup fifth-round tie against Charlton Athletic this weekend.

Despite having been contracted at Chelsea all his career, Hutchinson has just six first-team games to his name.

His move to Wednesday becomes the club's second acquisition for today, after they signed Blackburn Rovers striker Leon Best as well.
