The agent of FC Porto midfielder Fernando has revealed that his client could leave the Portuguese giants for less than his €30m release clause, while confirming there has been contact with a whole host of Italian sides over the player.

Fernando's contract at Porto had been due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but he recently put pen to paper on an extension.

That has not ended interest though, as Liverpool have continue to keep in touch with his agent, while Manchester City were very keen last month.

Italian sides too, in the shape of Napoli, Inter and Juventus, have also been linked with the Brazil-born schemer.

"In recent weeks I have had contact with Napoli, Inter and Juventus, but later these teams obviously made other choices", Antonio Araujo told Tutto Napoli.

"It could be however that there are new options in the summer and it cannot be ruled out that he leaves for a figure lower [than the clause]", he continued.

"It depends on the desire of the club and the willingness to deal."

The 26-year-old's new contract at the Estadio do Dragao runs until the summer of 2017.
