Benfica coach Jorge Jesus is desperate not to lose Garay midway through the season, especially with the transfer window being closed in Portugal and no replacement therefore being able to be signed.

Garay has clocked up 18 appearances in the Portuguese Primeira Liga so far this term, even chipping in with three goals as Jesus' men sit on top of the table, ahead of Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto.
