Alessandro Del Piero is set to lock horns against his former club Juventus two years after leaving Turin for Australia.
Del Piero will be part of an A-League All Stars side that will welcome Juventus on 10th August for a friendly fixture.
Del Piero spent 19 years with Juventus during which time he made 705 appearances scoring 290 goals.
The association ended in mid-2012 when he left for A-League side Sydney FC, but the chance has at last come for him to face his old club.
News of the August friendly was confirmed in Australia today, in the presence of another Juventus legend in Edgar Davids.
Football Federation of Australia CEO David Gallop was quoted on the official website as saying: "To have a club of the calibre of Juventus FC come to Sydney is a massive coup for football in Australia.
"To put it into perspective, it’s very possible that of the 24 players in the Juventus FC first team squad, 16 players could be at the 2014 FIFA World Cup representing eight different nations.
"This match will be a fantastic opportunity for fans to see the best of the Hyundai A-League line-up against some of the world’s best international footballers in our own backyard."
