Richairo Zivkovic looks all set to disappoint Manchester City and Liverpool as his Ajax transfer nears completion according to De Telegraaf.

The 17-year-old is poised to give his agreement to the deal, after Ajax found their own agreement with FC Groningen. The transfer is understood to be worth €2.5m with a 10% bonus on top.

Zivkovic had been on the radars at Newcastle United as well, but was not believed to be too keen on moving away from Holland.

And it left Ajax as the only major competitors for his signature, with director of football Marc Overmars yesterday conducting negotiations with the player's representatives.

Zivkovic is expected to join Ajax on a three-year deal from the summer, with FIFA rules prohibiting longer contracts for minors.

The striker only made the Groningen senior cut last summer, but has chipped in with five goals in 20 Eredivisie games this season.

He has also worked up the Holland youth se-tup and currently plays for the Under-19 side.
