Liverpool head of performance Glen Driscoll believes that Brendan Rodgers demands higher standards from his players than the likes of Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti do from theirs.

Driscoll worked at Chelsea for eight years and spent time under Mourinho, Ancelotti, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Avram Grant and Guus Hiddink.

Now at Liverpool, it is the demands that Rodgers places on his players which has caught Driscoll's eye.

Driscoll, who left Chelsea to link up with Rodgers in 2011, told Liverpool's site: "We have a manager who inspires and demands more from his players than any other manager I've seen.

"Tactically, he demands both a relentless, high energy press, but also an electric transition and counter-attack.

"Most teams do one or the other."

Liverpool are flying high under Rodgers this season, sitting in fourth place in the Premier League, just four points behind leaders Chelsea.

They have also produced a number of high-quality displays, the most recent being a 5-1 destruction of title rivals Arsenal at Anfield.
